Prevent CARGO THEFT WITH NOISE DETECTION AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

THE AUDIO RECOGINITION FRAMEWORK HELPS DETECT TYPICAL NOISES IN AN OPTIMIZED WAY TO PREVENT CARGO THEFT AND VANDALISM

Figures hooded in black with box-cutter knives “Planenschnitzer” hoodies caused astonishment among many visitors to the IAA Transportation in Hanover. With this campaign, the Mageburg IT company Infinite Devices drew attention to the biggest problem facing freight forwarders in Europe: two billion Euro damage by “tarpaulin slashers” (source: BKA, Statista 2022): 70 thefts per day in Germany alone, 100 million euros in damage from fuel theft and 100 million euros from 100,000 graffiti recorded by the police (source: Federal Criminal Police Office, Statista 2022).

At the world’s leading trade fair for mobility, transport and logistics, the company from Magdeburg presented an innovative concept against freight theft and vandalism. “We have been working for years on alternatives to expensive electric wire and easily manipulated infrared systems that cost a lot of time, energy and money,” explains Infinite Devices Managing Director Bruno Kramm. The Audio Recognition Framework is based on noise recognition with artificial intelligence and reacts to typical cutter and contact noises with the truck tarpaulin can also be used to effectively prevent graffiti damage, drilled tanks and fuel theft.
